Trainee Accountant
Location: Pontyclun Area
Hours: Office-based, 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 (DOE) + full study support
Môrwell Talent Solutions is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of well-known business in the RCT in their search for a Trainee Accountant. This excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious graduate to join a busy finance team as a Trainee Accountant. This position offers full study support towards an AAT or ACCA qualification, providing the ideal foundation for someone looking to build a rewarding long-term career in accountancy and finance.
My client is seeking an individual who is eager to learn, develop professionally and take on increasing levels of responsibility as their experience and qualifications progress. You\ll be part of a friendly, supportive finance department, gaining hands-on experience across all areas of accounting within a successful and diverse group of businesses.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of month-end journals including deposits, accruals, cost of sales and revenue
* Daily reconciliation and audit of company revenue
* Assisting with stock reconciliations and investigating variances
* Reconciliation of gift vouchers, intercompany accounts and other balance sheet items
* Processing purchase ledger invoices and assisting with statement reconciliations and payment runs
* Review and posting of petty cash transactions
* Support with the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting
* Undertake ad-hoc analysis and reconciliations as required
* Provide day-to-day support to the wider finance team
About the successful candidate
* Degree in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics preferred)
* Strong Excel skills, including use of lookups and pivot tables
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
* Self-motivated, proactive and eager to learn
* Confident working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities
* Experience using Microsoft Office; knowledge of Navision would be an advantage
