Head of Property Mangement
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established property management company in North London, specialising in the management of private and council-owned residential properties. This is a pivotal senior-level role, ideal for someone with a strong background in residential property management, particularly in the public housing or social housing sector, and with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
As Head of Property Management, you will take ownership of a busy department overseeing a significant portfolio of council and local authority housing stock. You will manage a small, dedicated team while ensuring the highest standards of compliance, service delivery and operational effectiveness.
Head of Property Mangement - Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and mentor a team of Property Managers
Oversee the day-to-day management of council-owned and social housing properties
Ensure full compliance with housing legislation, health and safety standards and regulatory requirements
Liaise with local councils, housing officers, landlords, tenants and contractors
Act as the point of escalation for tenancy disputes or maintenance issues
Monitor KPIs and service delivery, implementing improvements as needed
Lead team meetings, performance reviews, and support staff development
Streamline internal processes to increase efficiency and service quality
Provide regular reports to senior leadership on operational performance
What Were Looking For
ARLA qualified desirable
Solid experience in residential property management, particularly in local authority, housing association or social housing settings
Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills
In-depth knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy law (ASTs), and compliance
Exceptional communication and conflict resolution abilities
Highly organised and comfortable working under pressure
Full UK driving licence (own car preferred)
