About the role

We’re looking for a Finance Ledger Assistant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be accountable for the day-to-day operations of the financial ledger for Purchase & Sales, Cashbook, and bank account reconciliations for the Group. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Your impact

You will have substantial experience working in a Finance department in a ledger role, be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office packages, and have a strong attention to detail. You’ll be responsible for:

* Setting up and amending new suppliers/customers, adhering to internal controls.

* Ensuring supplier and customer creditworthiness.

* Processing purchase and sales ledger invoices accurately and efficiently.

* Managing daily cash revenue, payments, and bank reconciliations.

* Preparing, reviewing, and executing payment runs.

* Managing and resolving account queries from internal and external stakeholders.

* Providing weekly debtors reports and managing credit control.

* Assisting in month-end and year-end tasks, including reconciliations and audit requirements.

* Ensuring compliance with club policies, health & safety, safeguarding, welfare, and equality policies.

About the team

You will work within the Finance department, reporting to the Finance Ledger Team Leader, and collaborate closely with colleagues, suppliers, and customers to maintain excellent relationships.

Location

This role is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with an expectation of working 3 days per week from the office. Please note, if you are not located in the Northeast and unable to relocate, we regret that we will not be able to progress your application.
