Background
The 5* Nare Hotel, positioned as 'the country house hotel by the sea', is Cornwall's top luxury hotel. Sitting in its own grounds, overlooking a beach with perfect sea views. The hotel offers traditional standards of comfort, luxury and service that are increasingly difficult to find in the modern world. Rated by the AA as the best hotel in Cornwall for over 30 years, it is set in some 8 acres, has 41 well-appointed rooms, a traditional 'Dining Room' and a fine dining restaurant. In addition, the hotel offers a broad range of leisure facilities including tennis, croquet, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a small spa with three treatment rooms and a 38' motor launch which takes guests on excursions.
The Role
The role at The Nare is a great opportunity to further develop your career. You will be working in a very traditional dining room offering our guests the finest levels of Silver Service and there may be opportunities for the right candidate to work in our Quarterdeck restaurant, a more modern and faster pace setting. You will be expected to work weekends and evenings. Working as part of a professional team and with fantastic guests, you will be in a good position to fulfil any aspirations you may have. Training will be provided but you will need to be dedicated to your own career to prosper here. We expect full commitment in return for a rewarding place to work.
This role requires
* Supervisory experience and the ability to manage a section, and guide team mates.
* Wine service skills - knowledge of wine would be advantageous.
* A good understanding of French cuisine.
* Silver service experience.
Candidate Criteria
This is a very high-quality operation and accordingly, candidates must have a significant aspiration to working in quality hotels. You will want a career in hospitality. Whilst at one level this is a traditional business, it is also progressive, and candidates should be able to demonstrate a much more contemporary outlook on life and an ability to adapt to a fast-moving, busy operation.
A car will be necessary due to our location and poor transport networks.
