Overview
Part-time Prep Music Teacher (Initial Fixed Term Contract) – January 2026 to 31 August 2026. Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (for this academic year, these days are not flexible). Start Date: January 2026. The role is part-time (approximately 8 hours of teaching plus PPA/admin duties) to lead music across Nursery to Form 6 in the Prep School.
Responsibilities
* Teach classroom music and choirs (Forms 1–6).
* Lead co-curricular music activities: ensemble, theory and aural clubs.
* Support performances and events (e.g. Carol Service, Easter Story).
* Liaise with VMTs, College Music School, parents and arts staff.
* Manage instrumental programmes and music resources.
* Contribute to newsletters, reports and school events.
* Embrace the High-Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy.
* Demonstrate strong piano/organ/keyboard skills and a passion for school music.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience as a class teacher or music teacher in a school setting is preferred.
* Strong piano/organ/keyboard skills and a passion for school music are essential.

An enhanced DBS check (including children’s barred list information) is required in advance of appointment.
