About the Role
Reports to the Operations HSE Manager and is an active member of the HSES team, providing technical guidance and advice concerning the HSES Management system and associated environmental matters. Provides expert environmental advice, support and guidance on environmental issues.
* Can be based in Aberdeen or Barrow.
Responsibilities
* Ensures compliance with environmental permits for activities both onshore and offshore.
* Ensures environmental matters are embedded in the integrated management system and maintains the ISO 14001 management system.
* Provides support regarding new and forthcoming environmental legislation, industry and best practice. Understand and promote the environmental and associated legal requirements.
* Identify and supports managing environmental risks.
* Provide strategic input and delivery of the HSES improvement plan.
* Lead and/or participate in investigations into accidents/incidents to identify underlying causes, recommend preventative measures and trend performance.
* Lead and/or participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance to legal requirements and the HSES management system.
* Performance assessment, monitoring, benchmarking and reporting – regulatory as required and to shareholders.
* Onshore based however will require regular visits to offshore installations as required.
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships including with regulators.
* Act with integrity and take responsibility for actions and self-development.

Required
* Education: Degree/qualification in Environmental Management or related subject.
* Work Experience: Experience of oil and gas production activities.
* Knowledge and experience of integrated management systems with environment embedded – risk management, assurance, tools and techniques.
* Knowledge of UK environmental legislation.
* Experience and Knowledge of ISO14001 Certification.
