We are recruiting an Asset Surveyor to join a well-established Social Housing Group based in Cambridgeshire, with a regional remit across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire.
As an Asset Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering the organisation’s Asset Management Strategy, ensuring homes and buildings are safe, compliant, well maintained and fit for purpose, while supporting residents to live independently and safely. Asset Surveyor key responsibilities include:
11. Delivering comprehensive surveying services including stock condition surveys, measured surveys, defect diagnosis, maintenance inspections and HHSRS assessments (with a focus on damp and mould)
12. Preparing technical documentation including specifications, drawings, floor plans, tender packs and cost estimates
13. Supporting planned, cyclical and major works programmes
14. Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, building regulations, planning requirements and health & safety legislation
15. Managing contractors, consultants and external stakeholders, overseeing quality, performance and value for money
16. Undertaking contract administration and site inspections
17. Liaising with landlords, insurers and third parties where required
18. Contributing to procurement activities, policy development and service improvement initiatives
19. Participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota
20. Championing safeguarding and health & safety best practice
Projects will span domestic and commercial properties and include planned maintenance, compliance works, major repairs and improvement programmes across occupied homes and community buildings.
The successful Asset Surveyor will have:
21. Minimum three years’ experience in a surveying role
22. Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs and maintenance
23. Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance programmes
24. Sound understanding of CDM, building regulations and health & safety compliance
25. Experience in contractor and contract management
26. Ability to produce accurate specifications, drawings, reports and cost estimates
27. Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and CAD software
28. Confidence working in occupied properties with residents who may have diverse needs
29. A professional, organised and pragmatic approach
30. Full driving licence and ability to travel regularly across regional sites
