We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Deputy Head of Communications and Marketing to join our award-winning team, playing a crucial role in shaping and delivering the council's communications strategy.
About the post
Supporting the Head of Communications, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for all communications and marketing activities across the council.
You will act as a key advisor to the Leader of the Council and the Chief Executive on matters of reputational impact, ensuring our messages are clear, consistent, and engaging.
Your expertise will be pivotal in advising the corporate leadership team and elected members on best practices for communicating the council's vision and strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate
* Will be an experienced and strategic communications professional with a proven track record of delivering high-impact communications plans.
* Will have substantial expertise in media relations, including managing campaigns and crisis communications, as well as developing and executing effective digital marketing and social media strategies.
* Will have the ability to provide expert advice and challenge senior leadership, build strong relationships with councillors, external stakeholders, and the media, and generate external income.
* Will have an understanding of local government and the political landscape.
* Will have a degree or equivalent substantial experience in communications, marketing, or a related discipline.
