Teaching Fellow - EF - Mathematics & Statistics at UNSW. The Teaching Fellow enhances links between UNSW Sydney and secondary schools and supports first-year student experiences. The role includes teaching, research activities, course assessment, administration, curriculum development, and outreach. Flexible work arrangements may be considered for regional applicants.
About The Role
Level A - $113K - $121K plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
Fixed Term – 12 months
Full-time (35 hours per week)
Responsibilities
* Deliver mathematics tutorials and other teaching for up to 12 hours per week.
* Carry out teaching related activities allocated by the Head of School (or delegate), such as class preparation, administration of records, informal consultation with students, exam supervision, marking, and other coordination duties.
* Depending on interest and capacity, undertake lecturing and engage in mathematical research or scholarship.
* Assist in course assessment, administration and curriculum development and outreach activities.
* Undertake administrative duties as specified by the Head of School and/or the Director, First Year Studies.
* Align with and demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values; cooperate with health and safety policies.
About The Successful Applicant
(Selection Criteria)
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Degree in Mathematics or related discipline.
* Demonstrated strong mathematical background.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching mathematics with recent involvement teaching mathematics in years 11 and 12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Interest in promoting mathematical thinking in schools and the community.
* An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
