Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outpatient administrator to join the Cardiology team at Dorset County Hospital.
This is a varied, interesting and rewarding role, and we are looking for a post holder who is professional, confident, keen and friendly. You will need to be able to communicate with everyone in the MDT, including consultants, nurses, secretaries, patients and external agencies so having excellent communication skills is essential to the role.
The post is based within the Cardiology Department, South Wing at Dorset County Hospital.
This role is for 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* The post holder will undertake a range of general administrative duties for the department including checking patients in for their appointments; booking of outpatient diagnostic appointments; answering telephone and email queries; and handling and distributing incoming post.
* The successful candidate will also contribute to the smooth running of the Reception Desk.
* The job holder would be expected to act on own initiative and be responsible for their own actions and be able to make decisions within their role and seek advice, if required, from various members of the MDT team.
* As a member of a team in the department, the post holder will be expected to work flexibly with other members of the team to ensure the best possible patient care.
