Child Protection Liaison Officer Permanent Contract Full Time Salary (£33,603.00 - £39,276.00) Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration. The main purpose of the role is to liaise with partner agencies and attend Safeguarding meetings to assist in the specialist investigation of serious offences involving children, to safeguard and protect children from abuse that is interfamilial or from a person in a position of trust or responsibility. Main Responsibilities: To work with other statutory and voluntary agencies to manage risk and safeguard and protect children from the risk of significant harm. To complete tactics implemented under the strategic Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) business plan to ensure the ongoing safeguarding and protection of children. To consistently apply policy and Approved Professional Practice (APP) in relation to Child Protection and Abuse Investigation. To appropriately represent Warwickshire Police at multi-agency meetings, ensuring police obligations are met. To liaise with investigating officers and share information to partner agencies that is required to protect children from harm that is compliant with policy and legislation. To provide advice and guidance to staff in other business areas on Child Protection and Abuse Investigation, ensuring Police meet partnership and legislative responsibilities. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. Knowledge: Education to A level/NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Child Protection/ Safeguarding procedures. Knowledge of, statutory guidance, approved professional practice and local safeguarding procedures relating to Child Death; Child Protection and Abuse Investigation; the investigation of Rape and Serious Sexual Offences. Experience: Experience of multi-agency working with statutory and voluntary agencies. Experience of data/information collection, analysis and presentation of information. Key Skills: Ability to work in partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies. Competent in the use of basic ICT applications such as email and word processing. Accurate data entry skills and the ability to enter, retrieve and present information in a suitable format. Proven ability to work to strict deadlines, managing a high workload. Special Conditions Travel throughout Warwickshire policing areas. The duties of this post involve exposure to disturbing images or tasks. The Post holder will receive mandatory psychological assessments annually. We want our organisation to be as diverse as the community it serves.
