Building Facilities are a multidisciplinary team providing a wide range of building surveying and engineering services to both internal and external clients on a wide range of properties including schools, leisure centres and our housing stock. We have a very busy and varied workload delivering a planned and capital programme of circa £20m per annum.
We are seeking an Assistant Principal Building Services Engineer (electrical designer) to work in our team based at County Hall, Beverley. Please note the post allows a large degree of agile working after an initial period of training.
The Building Facilities Group provides a wide range of services including building services compliance, building maintenance and multi-disciplinary refurbishment schemes. Our property portfolio boasts a diverse range of buildings including schools, leisure centres, office accommodation, care homes and housing properties.
The primary function of this role will require the post-holder to deliver complex electrical building services engineering schemes and solutions, designing for new and refurbishment projects across the property portfolio as single discipline projects or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, producing quality specifications and CAD drawings and procuring the works in accordance with the councils requirements, you will also ensure that contractors undertake work to the desired standards in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with statutory regulations.
In addition, the post-holder will be required to lead on electrical engineering design strategy and advise on energy efficiency and carbon reduction techniques, undertake energy audits and supervise and mentor junior staff
The post requires an enthusiastic and motivated engineer with experience in design, maintenance and compliance of building services installations, together with relevant formal qualifications, preferably at degree level, and the ability to demonstrate appropriate knowledge of current legislation appertaining to building services and the CDM Regulations.
You will be a member of a relevant professional body and ideally registered as an Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council. Access to further training is available and is actively encouraged.
You will possess a full driving license, as the post requires the holder to undertake site visits in pursuance of their duties.
