Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Class Teaching Assistant to join our team in Preston. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning activities within our school, primarily focusing on Key Stage 2 classes. This is a full-time position that will also involve occasional cover of classes.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in implementing lesson plans and delivering engaging educational activities.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth.
* Support students with challenging behavior, utilising appropriate strategies and interventions
* Occasionally cover classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
* Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other members of the school community.
Requirements:
* A Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent.
* Thorough understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Science, and other subjects.
* Ability to confidently manage and support challenging classroom dynamics.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the school environment.
* Desirable: Previous experience or training in phonics instruction.
