Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion
King Offa Primary Academy is looking to recruit an energetic, innovative Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion on a permanent basis to join our friendly and forward‑thinking team.
As the lead for inclusion, this role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to make a real impact across the school and particularly for children with SEND.
Required qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status.
* Experience working in Key Stage 1 and 2 classes.
* A genuine passion for inclusion and creating an environment where all pupils can thrive.
* Enthusiastic and committed to leading and motivating a team.
* Committed to raising the achievement of all students of all abilities.
Additional qualifications and essential skills
* National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (essential) or willingness to complete within the first 24 months of appointment.
* Competent in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning and able to use computerised school systems to manage the organisation (essential).
* Successful involvement with, and management of, planning and target setting (essential).
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of national curriculum and current developments (essential).
* Ability to use pupil data to set aspirational and challenging targets (essential).
* Ability to develop an ethos and structure for managing behaviour, enabling pupils to become independent and self‑managing in the classroom (essential).
* Ability to prioritise (essential).
* Excellent communication (written, oral, and presentation skills) (essential).
* Excellent self‑awareness and ability to manage self (essential).
* Willingness to learn from others and both seek and take advice (essential).
* Ability to integrate equality policies into action (essential).
* Ability to develop an appropriate environment which ensures the safety of all users of the Academy (essential).
* Resilience, the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines (essential).
* Evidence of different leadership and management roles in an educational context.
* Demonstrable ability to manage change effectively.
* Record of recent professional development (essential).
* Proven track record in bringing about improvement in pupil outcomes (essential).
* Track record in working with, and impacting on, parental engagement (essential).
* Recent experience in EYFS, KS1, or KS2.
* Experience of Ofsted processes.
* Experience of leading and managing staff (essential).
* Experience of leading inclusion and understanding a range of SEND needs; curriculum area with demonstrable impact (essential).
* Knowledge of curriculum and best practice in relation to EYFS, KS1, or KS2 (essential).
* Knowledge of referral pathways in East Sussex.
* Ability to work effectively as part of the school team and with governors, trustees, pupils, guardians/carers, stakeholders and partners within, and beyond, the education sector (essential).
