Overview
NHS Fife offers a pharmacist a opportunity to join a rapidly developing, friendly primary care team in Kirkcaldy. The team supports GP practices to deliver polypharmacy reviews, medicines reconciliation, acute and repeat prescription requests, medication reviews and other work in line with the GMS contract. There is opportunity for full utilisation of prescribing on a daily basis within the team.
The role involves working with GP Practices as part of a multi‑professional team to optimise safe, quality, evidence‑based and cost‑effective use of medicines. Pharmacists and the wider pharmacy team are embedded as part of the multi‑disciplinary team in all practices to help deliver high quality pharmaceutical care, ensuring patients get the best possible outcomes from their medicines, avoiding harm and waste. You will be supported by Senior Practice Pharmacists and will work with an expanding and developing team of fellow Practice Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Medicines Management Support Workers.
The position is full time (37 hours per week); part time hours would be considered at a minimum of 28 hours per week.
This role provides a developmental opportunity to gain a breadth of experience across the diverse clinical nature of primary care. Prospective candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided. The integrated pharmacy service runs regular staff development sessions on a range of clinical topics, with opportunities to attend wider educational and CPD events.

Working Arrangements and Benefits
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
