Payroll & Compliance Lead Location: Central Rickmansworth (Hybrid – approx. 30% office / 70% home) Salary : £30,000-£35,000 (DOE) Type: Full-time, Permanent About Liquid RS: Liquid RS is one of the UK’s leading specialist recruitment partners to the social housing sector. Our structure allows consultants to focus on people and relationships while our operations and business support teams ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. About the Role: We are looking for a detail-driven and proactive Payroll and Compliance Lead to manage candidate compliance, payroll coordination, and audit readiness across all temporary and contract placements. You will work closely with the Directors and Consultants to ensure every placement is fully compliant, every payroll report is accurate, and information is shared clearly across the team. This role suits someone who enjoys structure, consistency, and taking ownership of processes and who values clear communication as much as accuracy. Alongside these core responsibilities, you will also track and manage company equipment such as laptops and phones issued internally and externally, and coordinate staff holidays to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and adequate cover across the business. Key Responsibilities: • Manage weekly and monthly payroll preparation for temporary workers via our external provider (Zodeq) • Produce and circulate payroll breakdowns, including pay, margin, VAT, and ERNI figures, ensuring they are shared promptly with the Directors • Ensure all placements are fully compliant including RTW checks, DBS verification, references, and onboarding documentation • Maintain clear, well-organised digital records in Bullhorn, ensuring all payroll, compliance, and placement information is up to date and accessible • Liaise with VMS companies and clients during compliance audits, ensuring all required documentation is in place and accurate • Communicate regularly with consultants on rate confirmations, start dates, and compliance progress, keeping all stakeholders informed • Identify and resolve payroll or documentation issues quickly and record outcomes for reference • Track and manage company laptops and phones, maintaining accurate records of all issued equipment • Coordinate staff holidays and maintain visibility across the business to ensure balanced cover at all times • Contribute to improving systems, templates, and reporting to make processes more efficient and transparent Skills and Experience • Must have proven experience in payroll and compliance, ideally within the recruitment industry • Experience using recruitment software, ATS, and CRM systems, with Bullhorn experience being a real advantage • Excellent attention to detail and consistency, with the ability to refine structured processes • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain requirements simply • Understanding of payroll structures, including VAT, margins, and ERNI • Knowledge of RTW checks, GDPR, and recruitment compliance standards • Strong Excel and data management skills • Team-oriented with a collaborative, solution-based mindset What We Offer • Flexible working with autonomy and trust • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus your birthday off • Pension enrolment after probation • Regular socials and professional development opportunities • Laptop and work phone provided Join Us If you take pride in accuracy, communication, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, we would love to hear from you.
