Plumpton Racecourse is a historic and vibrant sporting venue nestled in the heart of the Sussex countryside. With a proud tradition of delivering unforgettable race days and hosting premium events, they’re looking for a driven Head of Sales to grow their commercial revenues across raceday hospitality, sponsorship, group bookings, and non-racing events.
You’ll be based at Plumpton Racecourse and will play a key role in driving ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship sales, working closely with marketing and operations to ensure an outstanding experience for clients and partners.
What you'll be doing:
Sales and Business Development
* Lead sales across raceday hospitality, group bookings, and sponsorship packages
* Develop new business opportunities and support the retention of existing clients
* Deliver targeted sales campaigns including email marketing, telemarketing, and partner promotions
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
* Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
* Support the planning and delivery of familiarisation events and client visits on racedays
* Represent Plumpton at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Event Support
* Contribute to the success of non-racing event sales
* Ensure smooth handover of client bookings to operations and delivery teams
* Assist in identifying new commercial opportunities aligned to business goals
Marketing Collaboration
* Work closely with the marketing team to support promotional campaigns and customer acquisition
* Help ensure customer data is effectively used to generate leads and repeat business
* Support the implementation of ICX strategies to improve customer experience and sales performance
What you’ll bring:
* Proven experience in a sales or commercial role, ideally within the sport, leisure, or events sectors
* A proactive approach to generating leads and securing bookings
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Confidence in building rapport with clients and handling negotiations
* Organised and able to manage multiple projects and campaigns at once
