Job Summary

The Registered Service Manager (RSM) is a key member of the management team, responsible for delivering supported accommodation services for young people leaving care. This includes individuals aged 16-18, those over 18 years, and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). Initially, the RSM will oversee the management of six properties within the current portfolio. As the organisation expands, both the portfolio and the number of children, young people (CYP), and service users are expected to grow.

The RSM's primary responsibility is to ensure that each child or young person placed with Onward Path Care (OPC) has the opportunity to be heard, feels safe and secure, and can develop structured, workable plans to work towards living independently by the age of 18 while achieving positive outcomes. The role of the RSM is crucial in ensuring that staffing schedules align with all contracted hours for each person supported by OPC. Additionally, the RSM is responsible for managing staff-related activities, including recruitment, training, supervision, appraisals, and planning. A comprehensive understanding of the Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, along with other relevant regulations and legislation, is essential to ensure compliance with policies and procedures aligned with these standards.

Effective communication skills are vital, as the RSM must interact with professionals, CYPs/adults receiving support, and the OPC management team and staff. Duties will involve conducting reviews of Pathway and Support Plans, creating individualised Pathway to Independence plans, maintaining daily logs, and ensuring accurate recording of all necessary data to analyse each individual's progress while receiving support from OPC.
