Residential Conveyancer & Team Leader - Kingswood (Bristol)
A well-established, progressive law firm is seeking a senior residential conveyancer to lead its conveyancing team in Kingswood. This is a standout opportunity for someone who wants to combine high-quality legal work with meaningful leadership - shaping the direction of a growing, well-regarded team without the pressures of a volume-driven environment.
The firm's conveyancing offering spans multiple offices across Bristol and is known for its focus on service over scale. With strong local relationships, longstanding estate agent referrals, and a steady flow of quality instructions, this team has built a reputation for excellence - backed up by consistently strong online reviews.
This is a full-time, client-facing role with management responsibility for a close-knit team. The incoming team leader will handle their own caseload of residential sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers, supported by a paralegal and legal secretary, while also overseeing the performance, wellbeing and development of the office-based conveyancing team.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor, legal executive or licensed conveyancer with strong technical ability and previous team leadership or mentoring experience. A solid understanding of the Bristol property market is an advantage, as is a genuine interest in developing others and helping the team grow - commercially, culturally and professionally.
This is not a high-volume environment. The emphasis is on care, communication, and doing things properly - with clear expectations, reasonable targets, and strong operational support. The successful candidate will also play an active role in networking and business development locally, with the backing of a firm that takes marketing seriously and encourages every team member to build their own profile.
Alongside day-to-day fee-earning, the team leader will:
* Host weekly team meetings and monthly 1:1s
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of new team members
* Handle holiday planning and manage workflow allocation
* Be the point of contact for technical queries, supported by Heads of Department
* Help shape the client journey and triage system to keep the team operating efficiently
* Contribute to marketing and business development strategy
The role is based in Kingswood, with hybrid working available following successful probation. The team works core office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5.15pm), and the firm offers a balanced, people-first culture where wellbeing and flexibility are genuinely prioritised.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced conveyancer who's ready to take on a visible leadership role, with the freedom to shape a high-performing team and the support of a firm that values both quality and culture.
All enquiries will be treated confidentially. Interested candidates are invited to apply with a CV and short note on their experience.
