Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Practitioner to join the Acorn Group Practice team. This part‑time salaried GP role is based in Twickenham, serving a patient population of just over 8,000. The position initially involves four sessions per week over two full days (Wednesday and Friday), with potential for increased hours.
Responsibilities
* Conduct face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, manage home visits, and handle repeat prescription requests.
* Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions regarding presenting problems.
* Assess health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed issues, screen for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Develop care plans and provide health education to patients.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Collect audit data and compile computer‑generated prescriptions, avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible.
* Maintain timely paperwork and correspondence.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hold a recognised degree in medicine recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Complete a two‑year foundation course in general training.
* Complete specialist training in general medical practice.
* Hold current UK professional registration.
* Pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
* Experience as a GP Trainer is desirable.
* Previous experience working within a GP practice in primary care.
