Working within the Integrated Planning & Performance function and working closely with the SPEN CEO and Executive Team, this role is critical in shaping, coordinating and tracking delivery of SPEN’s strategic objectives.What you’ll be doingYou will act as a strategic partner across the business, joining up complex initiatives, providing clear insight on performance, risks and opportunities, and ensuring senior leaders are fully briefed on progress against operational and strategic priorities.This is a high-profile role, offering exposure across SPEN, ScottishPower Group and Iberdrola, and the opportunity to influence decision-making at the most senior levels.Act as a trusted strategic partner to the SPEN CEO and Executive Team, ensuring clear, concise and timely briefing on delivery of operational and strategic objectivesLead and join up key strategic initiatives across SPEN, ensuring alignment, pace and clear ownershipSupporting the development, coordination and delivery of SPEN’s strategy and priority initiativesProviding high-quality insight and analysis to inform executive decision-making, including financial and operational implicationsActing as a key interface between SPEN and ScottishPower / Iberdrola Group on strategic submissions, board papers and performance updatesTracking and monitoring business unit objectives, key risks and opportunities, ensuring clear actions and accountabilityOversight of critical areas such as headcount management and Long Term Outlook (LTO) planningPreparing and coordinating executive-level packs, presentations and briefings for Operating Committee, Management Committee and BoardsBuilding strong relationships across SPEN and corporate functions, proactively managing dependencies and alignmentPromoting efficiency, continuous improvement and best practice across the organisationWhat you’ll bringYou’ll be a high‑calibre strategic professional who operates confidently at Executive level, bringing sound judgement and insight to turn complexity into clear, actionable advice. You’ll be comfortable influencing at pace and building strong relationships across SPEN, ScottishPower and Iberdrola to shape strategic outcomes.Proven experience structuring and solving complex, ambiguous business problems and distilling insight into clear recommendationsStrong financial, commercial or operational acumen, with the ability to assess risks, impacts and financial implications of decisionsExperience working closely with senior leaders or Executive teams, providing high‑quality briefing and strategic supportExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and organisational boundariesOutstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and conciselyStrong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure and across multiple prioritiesExperience within a regulated environment, utilities, or a large complex organisation is highly desirableYou will haveRelevant degree (e.g. business, finance or related discipline)Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualificationAt least five years’ post-qualified experience in a financial, investment, audit or assurance environmentExcellent PowerPoint and executive presentation skillsKnowledge of the UK utilities sector and SPEN value drivers is highly advantageousFlexible approach to work, with openness to occasional UK travelWhat’s in it for youAs well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
