(Part-Time) Advanced Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber - CMHT
Are you an experienced pharmacist prescriber looking to step into a truly autonomous and innovative role?
We're looking for a new Advanced Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber to join our mental health services in Buckinghamshire on a part-time basis. This is a rare opportunity for you to lead and shape a developing ADHD medication review service across Buckinghamshire's Community Mental Health Teams. You'll combine clinical expertise, independent prescribing, and service development to deliver meaningful improvements for patients.

Main duties of the job
* Lead a specialist ADHD medication review clinic across Buckinghamshire CMHTs
* Carry out annual reviews, titrations, and medication optimisation for adults with ADHD
* Prescribe independently and make complex clinical decisions with appropriate consultant support
* Monitor physical health and ensure safe, high-quality prescribing practice
* Work closely with CMHT teams to identify and respond to wider mental health needs
Beyond direct clinical work, you’ll:
* Play a central role in designing and refining the ADHD clinic model
* Act as the pharmacy lead for ADHD, supporting colleagues across the directorate
* Build strong relationships with GPs and primary care, supporting shared care arrangements
* Contribute to medicines optimisation, audit and quality improvement
Qualifications
* UK registered Pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration
* Independent Prescriber qualification (annotated on GPhC register)
* Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (Diploma level or equivalent experience)
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience in secondary care pharmacy
* Experience working within a mental health setting
* Demonstrable experience of clinical decision-making in complex cases 1>
* Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams (MDTs)
* Evidence of involvement in service development, improvement, or pathway redesign
Knowledge & Skills
* Strong knowledge of ADHD pharmacotherapy and prescribing practices
* Understanding of shared care arrangements between primary and secondary care
* Ability to interpret clinical data and apply evidence-based practice
* Excellent communication skills, including handling sensitive or complex discussions
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

£57,528 to £64,750 a year per annum | pro-rata
