For over twenty years, our client has been delivering high-quality services and they are based in central Reading, Berkshire. With strong connections, empowerment, integrity and inclusivity they are leaders in their field.

Due to growth they are working exclusively with CMA in order to increase their finance department. The Finance Assistant will provide essential support across payroll, HR, and finance functions, ensuring accurate processing and administration.

This role is ideal for someone methodical, proactive, and experienced in administration or finance, who takes pride in their work.

What will the Finance Assistant role involve?

1. Collate payroll inputs from department managers, including New Starter Form details, employee data changes (bank details, address, right to work, etc.)
2. Proactively monitor the Time and Attendance system to ensure accurate recording of hours worked
3. Update payroll software for new starters
4. Bill rents due from clients
5. Recharge utilities and other costs to clients
6. Manage collection of rents and client recharges, including any credit control required
7. Bill ad hoc hours to funders, liaising with department managers to obtain funder agreement
8. Correct invoicing for changes in fee rates
9. Assist with general finance department duties, such as processing bank fees and posting purchase invoices

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Assistant vacancy:

10. Methodical, reliable, and proactive with a “get things done properly” attitude
11. Experienced in finance or administration, with good Excel skills
12. Preferably experienced with Sage Line 50 and Xero accounting packages
13. Empathetic and able to liaise effectively with non-financial managers
14. Flexible with a mix of office-based and home-based hours, with a requirement to attend the office at least 3 days a week
