Business Development Manager - Packaging
Location: North of England
The Role:

This is a truly exciting opportunity for an ambitious, seasoned Business Development Manager to join our clients dynamic and high achieving sales team, and a business that can fast track your progression into team management in less than a year! Initially on joining the company you will be responsible for winning and developing new business opportunities within a varied client base, from SME's to Blue-Chip organisations, within food & drink manufacturing, pharmaceutical, ecommerce and retail.
6. Predominantly you will be working directly with the end-user, working closely with them to enable you to present exciting and credible proposals, and effectively close the business, thought there will also be some potential clients within the packaging supplies and distribution arena.
7. As a new business hunter you will be expected to use your knowledge and expertise to identify potential new opportunities, make contact with key decision makers who could be anyone from a Procurement/Purchasing Manager, to a Buyer, to Business Owners, consult with them to identify their needs and wants, to enable you to bring on new clients.
8. Your ley focus will be clients and prospects will be based in North of England, including Newcastle, Cumbria, Leeds, Bradford, Hull & Doncaster so there is a huge amount of scope and opportunity in your given territory. Presenting to them a bespoke corrugated packaging solution, you will demonstrate a consultative sales approach. The sales process is not quick and could involve influencing multiple stakeholders and working with design teams too, so you will need to be adaptable and agile in your communication style and approach.
9. Once you have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the business, the client base and how to approach them, you will be fast tracked into a field sales managers role, where you will take over responsibility of a team of Territory Account Managers, Account Managers and Project Managers so there is huge scope for progression!
Requirements: To be considered for the Business Development Manager role you must have:
10. Be either a seasoned new business hunter within a b2b, field sales environment with the ability to demonstrate that you are ready for that next step of progression in your career....OR...
11. Someone currently working in a role where they are managing a small team, who is looking for a company that can offer them a larger opportunity
12. You must have sold into a similar route to market - i.e. Food and Beverage manufacturers, Pharmaceutical, E comms companies.
13. Our client are open on the product sold, but it must be a physical product/commodity - service/solution sells won't translate.
14. You will be new business focused in your approach but used to selling in a consultative manner.
15. Bright, personable, engaging candidates tend to do well here!
The Package:
· Basic: £45,000 - £65,000
· Bonus / OTE: Up to £16k
· Car: Company Car
