Overview
Lead Software Developer – Edinburgh – up to £90K plus benefits (Hybrid working). Change Digital are supporting a Global Software Technology company in their search for a Lead Software Developer (.Net and Azure). As the lead of the Transformation Team, you will spearhead efforts to modernize and optimize the codebase, enhance system performance, and ensure the long-term maintainability of the solution. This role combines technical leadership, hands-on technical work and a strategic mindset to drive the technical evolution of critical systems in a .NET and Azure environment.

Requirements & Skills
* 8+ years in software development, with expertise in C# on both .NET Framework and .NET Core platforms.
* 5+ years working with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
* Strong experience of web development and creating secure web applications.
* Strong experience of creating and consuming APIs, using patterns such as REST.
* Strong experience of using Git, pull request workflows and knowledge of best practices around branching and source code.
* Knowledge of running a production system for enterprise customers with performance, stability, security, and scalability expectations.
* Proven ability to modernize systems while balancing technical debt and delivery goals.
* Hands-on experience with containerization concepts (e.g., Docker).
* Highly proficient in SQL Server and performance tuning.
Nice to Have
* Experience leading projects from inception, proposing and designing solutions aligned with requirements.
* Familiarity with cross-team collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
* Experience in enterprise-scale or compliance-focused environments.
* Experience with infrastructure as code.
