Role Overview
- This post is a full‑time Consultant in Cardiology within the George Eliot NHS Trust (Nuneaton), focusing on complex cardiac devices and pacing.
- The appointee will collaborate with other Cardiology Consultants, specialist consultants, doctors in training, cardiology specialist nurses and physiological sciences.
- Deliver outpatient and inpatient cardiology services to the local population served by the George Eliot Hospital Trust, ensuring high standards of care.
- Specific duties include up to four Cath Lab sessions per week and up to two outpatient clinics per week; each clinic typically includes 5 new and 4 follow‑up patients.
- The role supports and further develops the cardiology service, providing daily patient review and senior decision making for optimal care.
- Based at The George Eliot NHS Trust, this post contributes to shaping the service for the future across Nuneaton and Bedworth, North Warwickshire, North Coventry and South West Leicestershire.
- This position is part of the Trust’s strategy to improve management of unplanned medical attendances, working closely with medical specialties.
- The Trust offers significant undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and has strong links with the University of Warwick.
