Care Home Chef - Residential Care Nursing & Dementia Care
Location: Faversham
Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Schedule: 28 hours per week (3 days one week, 4 days the next) + every other weekend
Pay: 13.50 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Care Home Chef to join our team at a residential care home in Faversham. This role involves preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals catering to residents with nursing and dementia care needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a care home environment or similar setting, with a passion for providing delicious meals that meet dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to nutritional guidelines and dietary needs of residents
Ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times
Work closely with care staff to accommodate special diets and preferences
Manage kitchen inventory and ordering supplies
Assist with menu planning and food presentation
Requirements:
Previous experience as a chef, preferably in a care home or healthcare setting
Understanding of dietary needs for elderly residents, including those with dementia
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Food hygiene certification (desirable)
Reliable, friendly, and flexible attitude
