Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Garston (L19), Liverpool
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Flexible / Temporary (with potential for extension or permanent opportunity)
Pay Rate: £14.25 – £15.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Halewood to recruit an Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant for the new academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced TA or educator who is passionate about delivering targeted support and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The role will focus on delivering literacy and numeracy interventions to small groups and individual pupils across KS1 and KS2, supporting progress and building confidence.

The Role
As an Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver structured interventions for pupils working below age-related expectations
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to assess needs and monitor progress
- Adapt resources and teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles
- Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have recent experience delivering interventions in a primary school setting
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly English and Maths
- Be confident working with small groups and on a one-to-one basis
- Be organised, proactive, and able to use their own initiative
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Be passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential
- Hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel
