Are you a talented and ambitious Cost Manager based in the Southwest looking to work on exciting infrastructure projects that can change the world? We are looking for Cost Managers to support our growth plans, working with key infrastructure clients in the Southwest, particularly in the water and environment sectors, supporting the successful delivery of their capital projects and programmes of work.
As a Cost Manager within our Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, you will provide a comprehensive, accurate and value‑driven service for large, high‑profile clients in the water sector, such as Southwest Water and the Environment Agency. The role may also present opportunities to work across highways, rail and power sectors.
Responsibilities
* Deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion, working with peers, Directors, clients and other stakeholders. This includes feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering, commercial awareness, fee generation, risk management, dispute resolution, post‑contract management, cost reporting and final accounts.
* Achieve the highest standards of professional competence and demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients, reinforcing the company’s profile.
* Help drive performance standards and technical excellence through expert communication and effective use of performance‑management processes and AECOM technical practice networks.
* Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, upholding and increasing the firm's profile as a provider of premium quality services.
* Actively support the internal team and mentor more junior staff.
Qualifications
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
* Accredited MRICS (or working towards membership).
* Experience in cost management/quantity surveying, ideally on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
* Good working knowledge of NEC4 contracts, particularly PSC and ECC.
* Experience undertaking cost/commercial management as part of integrated, multi‑organisation, collaborative teams.
* Experience working within a client organisation, either directly or through a colocation/secondment arrangement, is beneficial.
