Mechanical Fitter
We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team based in Barton-under-Needwood. This is an opportunity to work on complex, heavy mechanical systems.
The Role:
As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the stripping, rebuilding, and overhaul of heavy mechanical assemblies used within the rail industry. The role requires a hands-on, methodical approach with a strong focus on quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strip down, inspect, and survey mechanical units
* Rebuild and assemble components to engineering specifications
* Working on transmission and gear boxes
* Overhaul and test mechanical systems including:
o Fluid couplings
o Rail transmissions
o Torque-limiting couplings
* Identify wear, faults, and required repairs
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
* Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to health & safety procedures
Working Hours:
* 40 hours per week
