Overview
Principal Clinical / Counselling Psychologist HBT North is a part-time (0.5 w.t.e.) position within Home Based Treatment Teams (HBTT) in North Manchester. The role is to contribute as a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist within a multidisciplinary team that values psychological ideas and practices. Band 8b.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support HBTT clinicians in decision making and care planning.
* Conduct urgent assessments of acute mental health needs and develop comprehensive risk formulations.
* Promote psychological understanding of crises and guide service users into appropriate referral pathways.
* Engage in audit, research, service development initiatives, teaching and training as encouraged and supported.
* Contribute to MDT meetings and maintain strong links with regional Doctoral Clinical Psychology Training Courses; host placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
Qualifications and Experience
* Doctorate level qualification (doctorate or equivalent) required.
* Experience of working in secondary care services is essential.
* Experience of working in an MDT is essential; desirable: experience of working in a HBTT.
* Desirable additional training (e.g., EMDR, DBT).
