Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated, innovative Physiotherapist to lead our Emergency Care Team. As a Band 7 Physiotherapist you will have the opportunity to develop your own supervisory and management skills through supervising junior therapists, students and/or therapy support workers.
Key Responsibilities
- You will need excellent clinical and leadership skills, a keen interest in research, and a flexible approach with excellent team working, organisational and time‑management skills.
- You may be required to travel to different sites across the Essex, Suffolk and Tendring area.
- You will work as an autonomous practitioner, ensuring a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management and support more junior staff.
- You will clinically diagnose, formulate and implement treatment plans, use problem‑solving skills to form accurate diagnoses and prognoses, modify treatment accordingly, and maintain accurate documentation at all times.
- You will monitor referrals, ensuring appropriate discharge/ongoing care.
- You will have clinical responsibility for a designated caseload and organise this efficiently according to clinical priority.
- You will provide specialist assessment and advice for the multi‑disciplinary team, actively participate in MDT meetings, and participate in the professional development programme of the IUCRS team.
- You will carry out assessments and treatment of patients, with moderate physical effort on a daily basis, frequently involve exposure to unpleasant working conditions, and need to be sensitive when delivering a negative prognosis to patients, carers and relatives.
- You will play an active role in supervising and performance management of more junior staff, including informal supervision and participation in the department’s formal appraisal system, and assist in identifying and implementing appropriate learning opportunities.
