About The Role
This role is for a Bank position only. As an Assistant Chef at HC-One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It influences every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist Care homes. Everyone here understands that our Residents are individuals with their own stories, just like you and me. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to those people.
As an Assistant Chef, your responsibilities will include cooking and serving nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You’ll support our First Chef, stepping in during their absence. Whether managing food stock, optimizing your budget, coaching colleagues, or supervising kitchen clean-up, Resident wellbeing remains your top priority.
HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Beyond qualifications, we value your positive energy, ability to get along with people, organization skills, punctuality, presentation of food, and adherence to recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and pursue additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
