We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Supervisor to lead our Fabrication team. This is a hands-on role, working on the shop floor while overseeing the safe, efficient, and productive running of the fabrication area.
Reporting to the Production Manager and Group Manufacturing Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, to the highest quality standards, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise the day-to-day operations of the fabrication workshop
* Lead, motivate, and manage a team of skilled and semi-skilled staff
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures and legislation
* Plan and schedule fabrication activities from production through to delivery and installation
* Coordinate with Sales, Design, and Production teams to meet customer deadlines
* Monitor productivity, identify issues, and implement process improvements
* Manage materials, equipment, and manpower requirements
* Maintain accurate records using MRP/Workplan systems
* Ensure correct use of PPE and enforce high safety standards
* Oversee quality control in line with ISO 9001 and BS EN 1090 standards
* Support continuous improvement and staff development initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Strong background in fabrication and welding
* Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* Strong understanding of health & safety in a workshop environment
Desirable:
* Experience with MRP/production planning systems
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 and BS EN 1090 standards
* Proven ability to improve processes and drive efficiency
