We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Kitchen Assistant who wants more than just a job — someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and understands the importance of nutritious, well-prepared meals. In this role, you’ll support the kitchen team with food preparation, maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen, and ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and organised. Your attention to detail and commitment to food safety will be essential in keeping the kitchen running smoothly. This is a 35-hour contract, paid at £13.50 per hour, working shifts between 08:00–19:00 on a 2-week rolling rota that includes every other weekend : Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday You’ll benefit from a consistent routine and a supportive team environment. About Kings Hill Kings Hill Care Home is a brand-new, purpose-built care facility set in one of Kent’s most thoughtfully designed modern villages. Opening in Spring 2026, the home has been created from the ground up to support 78 residents with a wide range of needs, including residential, dementia, nursing and respite care. Potential start date is 7th July 2026 Role Responsibilities: Assistwith food preparation and cooking for daily menus as directed by the Head Chef / Assistant Chef. Ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules. Ensure compliance at all times of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP requirements and legislation. Follow instructions from Head Chef and Chef. Undertake pot washing duties on a daily basis. Skills and experience required: Previousexperience of working in food services is desirable. Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members is essential. A willingness to learn is essential.
