Night Support WorkerSalary: £12.87 - £14.03 per hour (linked to competency and qualifications)Plus: £25 night supplement per shift workedWelcome Bonus: £1,500Contract: Permanent - Full Time & Part Time availableLocation: RoystonPlease note: Experience of working in the care sector is essential for this role.Working Hours4-week rota pattern of 14 waking night shiftsShifts run from 8:45pm to 8:15amAverage of 40 hours per weekRegular weekend working (typically every other weekend)About the RoleWe are recruiting experienced Night Support Workers to join a specialist residential setting supporting children and young people with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, resulting in complex needs.This is a waking night position, where you will play a vital role in keeping children and young adults safe, comfortable and supported throughout the night while promoting consistency, reassurance and dignity.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding exceptional levels of care throughout the nightSupporting children and young adults with bedtime routines, including washing and changingEncouraging healthy sleep patterns where possibleCarrying out regular checks during the night and managing any incidents calmly and effectivelyMeeting all medical and care needs, including administration and recording of prescribed medication (following training)Ensuring the environment remains safe, calm, supportive and welcomingUndertaking light housekeeping duties during quieter periodsParticipating in personal care and physical intervention where requiredWhat We're Looking ForThis is a demanding but highly rewarding role. We are seeking individuals who are experienced, compassionate and resilient.Successful candidates will demonstrate:Prior experience in the care sector (essential)A willingness to learn and go the extra milePatience, empathy and excellent communication skillsA resilient, positive and proactive approachCreativity in meeting individual needsThe ability to promote and encourage independence where possibleFlexibility to work night shifts on a rota pattern, including weekendsExperience supporting children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable.Training and DevelopmentFull training and ongoing support providedFunded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care availableEnhanced DBS check paid forOpportunities to develop additional skills and responsibilitiesSafeguarding CommitmentReed is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
