Job Title: Senior Solicitor

Job Overview
Representing major banking and lender clients in a variety of debt recovery and dispute resolution matters, including secured debt recoveries, financial disputes, fraud, title and security rectification, professional negligence, tenancy disputes, and unsecured debt recoveries (personal and business).
Job Purpose
* To ensure clients are provided with the best possible advice and recommendations.
* To secure the best possible outcome for clients.
* To maximise fee income.
* To build strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a significant caseload for key financial services clients.
* Proactively handling a varied litigation caseload related to mortgage, personal, and business lending from lender clients.
* Assisting partners on key projects for lender clients.
* Providing strategic and commercial advice to clients.
* Negotiating settlements to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Representing clients in court hearings and settlement meetings.
* Meeting time recording and fee targets.
* Increasing visibility of the department by producing briefing notes as required.
* Drafting court papers and legal documents.
* Mentoring solicitors, trainee solicitors, and paralegals.
* Promoting the department and the firm through business development activities.
Qualifications
Essential: LLB, Diploma in Legal Practice
Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 3 years post-qualified experience.
* Technical expertise in secured and/or unsecured debt recovery matters.
* Experience or understanding of title rectification, property litigation, and conveyancing is desirable.
* Appearance at Sheriff Court and Court of Session.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build strong relationships with clients.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Teamwork and strong IT skills.
* Ability to meet strict deadlines.
Knowledge
* Excellent knowledge of secured debt recovery law and practice.
* Good understanding of Sheriff Court and Court of Session procedures.
* Awareness of the regulatory landscape affecting clients.
