Senior Health Care Support Worker

We are looking for a Senior Health Care support worker to join our experienced team at Louth Urgent Treatment Centre
In our busy UTC department we see a wide range of minor injury and illness patients and 111 booked appointments.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will actively take part in meeting the needs of patients on site or in Urgent care setting, under the direction of a qualified Nurse or Practitioner, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the department.
The post holder will record patient information and carry out a range of delegated clinical health duties including essential patient and clinical care ensuring that patients /clients receive safe, individualised and effective care which supports health and wellbeing and promotes self- care where appropriate and possible.
The post holder will also be expected to perform a range of non-clinical duties as requested including ordering of stores, audits, reception, clerical and chaperone duties.

Job responsibilities
* Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and lifelong learning with the ability and willingness to undertake competency-based training both initially and as ongoing requirement for the post to meet service requirements.
* Previous experience working and communicating with the public.
* Good computer / IT skills.
* Clinical experience in a healthcare setting undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks supporting unwell patients.
* Ability to work in a team.
* Ability to communicate with a variety of different people, adapt approach accordingly and build rapport.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Ability to use initiative and be aware of limitations.
* Ability to switch between activities required by the service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Basic General secondary Education
* NVQ 3 or willingness to work towards
* Current full UK driving licence
* Specific clinical skills or willingness to learn
Experience
* Customer service skills with experience of dealing with members of the public
* One year's experience as Health Care Support Worker in a similar field

* Good written and oral communication skills
* Effective team member
* Able to manage own workload
* Able to use work-based IT system
* Able to work in a demanding busy environment
* Willing to learn and undertake training
