Hatchery Electrician Hatchery Electrician - Emyvale, Co. Monaghan - €25.00 per hour Accommodation Assistance The Job: An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Hatchery Electrician to join the engineering team in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan. This role is critical to maintaining animal welfare standards, protecting egg integrity and ensuring full biosecurity compliance across the facility. A willingness to develop specialist knowledge of hatchery equipment and processes is essential. Key Responsibilities: - Install, maintain and repair electrical control systems, wiring, lighting and associated equipment across the hatchery - Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to minimise operational downtime - Inspect, test and maintain transformers, circuit breakers, motors, control panels and other electrical equipment - Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment - Repair and replace electrical wiring, fixtures and components in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards - Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and circuit breakers - Develop and maintain a working knowledge of hatchery equipment including incubators, hatchers, climate control systems, ventilation equipment and alarm/monitoring systems - Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment reliability and hatchery performance - Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise egg quality, animal welfare, temperature control or biosecurity standards - Follow all site biosecurity, health & safety and environmental procedures at all times - Complete maintenance records, work orders, permits and associated documentation accurately - Work collaboratively with engineering, production, quality assurance and management teams - Assist with general maintenance and repair work on process machinery as required - Participate in a 24 hour on call rota (1 week in every 3) and respond to operational issues when required The Company: Our client operates a modern, high specification hatchery facility supplying quality poultry stock within a highly regulated production environment. The Candidate: - Recognised electrical qualification (Electrical Trade, Electrical Engineering Technician or equivalent) with previous experience in electrical maintenance - Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals - Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, food processing, agricultural or production environments is highly desirable - Knowledge of automated control systems, motors, sensors and PLC controlled equipment would be advantageous - Experience within highly regulated environments where hygiene, safety and biosecurity are critical is beneficial - Understanding of preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software is desirable - Ability to work independently, prioritise workload effectively and respond to reactive issues under pressure - Flexible approach to work with full participation in an on-call rota requirement - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team - Must reside within a 20 minute radius of the hatchery due to on call requirements (relocation support may be available) The Package: - Hourly rare €25.00 per hour DOE - Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 - Participation in a 24 hour on call rota (1 week in every 3) - Structured on call allowance opportunities - Ongoing training and development - Opportunity to develop specialist expertise in hatchery and poultry production systems - Supportive and collaborative working environment - Accommodation assistance available for the right candidate Please email your CV to Conor Atay, Recruitment Delivery Consultant, CAtay@agrirs.co.uk.
