An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Mental Health Nurse to join our team in Scarborough.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are able to work with the wider MDT, voluntary sector and third sector organisations.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role.Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop into a community role within a team of supportive and experienced professionals. You will demonstrate excellent assessment skills, interpersonal, and team working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third sector agencies.

You will hold a caseload of cases, carry out duty days, and initial assessments.

The role will involve administering of depot medication and monitoring compliance and concordance with any other medications and side effects.

You must be able to travel independently in the community and have access to a car to support with patient visits.

Qualifications

Essential

15. Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD
16. To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
17. Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
18. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Experience

Essential

19. Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
20. Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
21. Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
22. Working in a multi-disciplinary team
23. Working in partnership with other agencies

Knowledge

Essential

24. Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
25. Understanding of relevant legislation (. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
26. Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
27. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
28. Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
