The job itself
A Personal Assistant is required to support a young man, in the Howden area, who is a wheelchair user with Cerebral Palsy.
He is looking for a Personal Assistant that help him to lead an independent life.
The role would include help with household duties such as cleaning, meal preparation and shopping. He will also need assistance with all aspects of Personal Care.
The young man has a fully adapted Mobility Car so the Personal Assistant will have to have a valid driving licence for this but all insurance would be covered with the vehicle to be used for both shopping trips and outings.
The Personal Assistant role would include providing support for all of the above needs as well as being flexible with the hours worked each week, a rota would be produced each week to cover the young man's appointment and responsibilities. The young man would require support on evening and weekends for both social events and outings.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
