An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time position of a Lead Practice Educator within NHS Grampian. Primary role will be to cover all the Acute Adult settings within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. These are NHS Grampian’s Medicine and Unscheduled Care Services, Surgical and Clinical Support Services. As organisational needs arise, there will be an expectation to deliver at the same level across other services within NHS Grampian. This specialist educational role will drive forward in collaboration with the Chief Nurses, Lead Nurse for Practice Education and Development and the Nurse Director for Excellence and Innovation, NHS Grampian’s strategic priorities, Plan for the Future, and Scottish Government priorities. The postholder will also work as part of the Senior Practice Education and Development Team ensuring strong partnership and working relationships with NHS Education for Scotland (NES), Higher and Further Education Institutes.
Education is key to sustainability of workforce. Therefore, robust governance and assurance of measurable outcomes is expected whilst working with teams of Educators. Enabling the development of learners within Nursing and Midwifery workforce to deliver first class care with evidence based practice within clinical areas whilst achieving a high quality learning environment is crucial.
It is therefore essential for applicants to have an extensive Practice Education experience, hold a Master’s degree, a post graduate teaching certificate and be fully knowledgeable of educational priorities and drivers informing local educational work plans across services within NHS Grampian whilst ensuring robust educational governance framework and a strong voice within Practice Education and Development.
Innovative development of educational transitional programmes for staff and enhancement of learning and development of teams through the use of NES four pillars of practice framework, excellent interpersonal skills, strong leadership and management skills, creative and innovative thinking with proven professional, leadership and clinical credibility are essential requirements to balance competing demands in this role.
An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
