Providing full lifecycle management of its development, support, security and evolution, providing Aldermore with a Cloud hosting environment that is exemplar for a regulated business, while providing bleeding edge technical capabilities to drive our Aldermore’s group business forward in a ‘Cloud First’ strategy, while building green field Cloud native business services, and transforming existing services to enable the benefits of Public CloudAbout the role – what you will be doing in our teamThe evolution of engineering and Cloud engineering is fundamental to the success of the Aldermore Group to build and operate technical capabilities key to enabling a modern business service. This role will report into the Cloud Platform technical lead who will be your line manager and responsible for things like performance review meetings, 1-1s and development conversations. Cloud Engineering is a key skill for Aldermore’s execution of a Cloud First strategy. As such you will be responsible for:Provide hands on Cloud engineering experience and capabilities to the development of Aldermore’s Cloud estateParticipate in Agile service deliveryContributing and defining technical roadmaps for Cloud services.Developing, maintaining and evolving documentation aligned to Cloud services, building living documentationParticipating in industry tech groups to stay on top of Cloud technologiesUtilizing FinOPS principals and capabilities to build cost effective Cloud services.Supporting and operating the Cloud services you design and developBuilding innovative Cloud first solutions to business, security and regulatory challengesParticipating and contributing to Aldermore’s Cloud SDLC, code reviews, pair programming.Work within SRE principals, build a ‘no-ops’ cultureBuild advanced telemetry for Cloud servicesBuild advanced Cloud data driven solutionsBuild and evolve Chaos engineering capabilitiesWork as part of a team, supporting the groups goals and outcomesAbout You – what we need you to bring to our team and businessIt would be advantageous if you can demonstrate some, or all of the following:Hands on industry experience of working in Public Cloud Environments.Practical knowledge of Cloud engineering practices (Infrastructure as Code, Immutable Infrastructure, CICD,)Practical knowledge of modern SDLC practices Strong analytical and technology skills with an attention to detailPractical use and knowledge of common Cloud deployment and configuration languages (Ansible/Puppet/Terraform/Chef etc)Practical use and knowledge of common Cloud development languages, (Python, Ruby, node, etc)Hands on experience working with a major Linux distributionQualifications and Professional Memberships Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification Experience, capability and demonstrable application of knowledge is the main qualification we look for! 1 year Industry experience working in a public cloud environment or equivalent educational experienceOur Behaviours – how we all need to be Our Behaviours – how we all need to be To deliver our Purpose and Strategic Drivers, we have a shared set of behaviours that underpin how we work together day to day.
