Lo-Fi Games is a small, busy, independent games studio based in Bristol, which prides itself on diversity and staff welfare. Our first game Kenshi has sold over two million copies worldwide and we’re now hard at work on the prequel - Kenshi 2. We’re looking for a highly-driven and experienced mid-level Community Manager to join our Marketing Team. Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic Kenshi fan that’s able to crack in-jokes with even the most hardcore of Kenshi players, and would love to be the main point of contact for our fans across the globe. You’ll be adept and experienced at autonomously managing and growing online communities, and have a strong understanding of social media dynamics. You will be capable of maintaining our company’s very specific tone and ethos, and proactive in managing difficult community interactions. The right person for the job will be able to demonstrate an ability to wear many hats, collaborate, adaptively implement feedback and actively listen to marketing leadership. Ultimately, you will be a key member of the Lo-Fi Games team, driving engagement and nurturing our community with clear, well-crafted communications, and helping ensure that our fans remain excited and involved in our journey as we draw nearer to Kenshi 2’s release. This role is offered as a hybrid or remote position, with a desk available in our Bristol office. Responsibilities Build hype for our upcoming prequel - Kenshi 2, by carrying out social media and communication campaigns under the direction of the Marketing Team Support and oversee voluntary moderators and admins that help manage the community. Ensure they are recognised for their efforts! Encourage online discussion of our previous title Kenshi by creating and posting engaging content Devise organic community growth strategies using competitions and community events etc. Create content and assets to promote Kenshi 2, ensuring they’re being shared in the format that fits each respective platform and drives the most engagement Engage with, manage and grow the Kenshi fan communities on Steam, Discord, Reddit and Twitter, acknowledging and reposting UGC as you go Add content to Steam, our newsletter platform and our website Provide reports on our social media network engagement, growth and sentiment Establish and maintain friendly and helpful relationships with streamers and content creators, keeping a close eye on their content Assist the Marketing Team with day-to-day administrative tasks Work closely with the QA and development team to stay on top of Kenshi 2 bug reports and game updates Requirements Three years’ professional experience in a games industry Community Management role where you’ve nurtured and significantly grown an active community Fantastic writing skills - the ability to speak both formally and informally with our company’s tone is absolutely vital to this position Strong knowledge of Kenshi’s lore, its fanbase’s humour and a passionate love for the game itself Experience using social media analytics and management tools Strong knowledge of social media best practices Experience using image and video editing software professionally Strong attention to visual detail Ability to interact with community members with sensitivity and respect while maintaining professional boundaries A strong team player that’s comfortable voicing their honest opinions and responding to feedback Experience proactively using project management software such as Asana Professional experience posting game updates and patch notes Desirable You’ve clocked up a significant amount of time in Kenshi, and have tried a wide range of mods Experience using Google Drive, Dropbox and Slack You’re fluent in more than one language Strong video editing and cinematography knowledge and a flare for creating snappy shorts Experience creating content that references an IP’s lore Experience streaming games You’re a patch note aficionado and a stickler for version numbers You’re able to make it into Bristol or London for Marketing Team catch-ups on a monthly basis Benefits Super flexible working - our core hours are between 12pm and 4pm (GMT) 28 days holiday plus bank holidays Relaxed environment with a strict company policy of no crunch Private WPA healthcare Excellent team welfare benefits and support Mental health support with Spill and WPA insurance (with two ‘no questions’ extra days off a year if you need it) Cycle to Work Scheme Free Merch!
