Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide a highly specialist applied psychology service for the post of 0.5 WTE Fixed-term 12 months - Consultant Clinical / Counselling Psychologist within NHS Grampian Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) Services. The successful candidate will have responsibilities for the provision and development of psychology services within GIC as well as a clinical leadership role for the multidisciplinary GIC pathway.
The role includes clinical work as well as leadership, supervision and consultation within NHS Grampian and partner agencies. Significant post qualification experience of working within GIC services collaboratively with other professional groups and partner agencies is essential. Experience of leadership and strategic planning will be advantageous.
The GIC currently consists of a small multidisciplinary team across various health services. There are close links with the D Clin Psych/ Edinburgh University and the service is keen to offer placements for trainees completing this course. The service actively supports practitioners’ clinical and research interests with a supportive framework of clinical and professional supervision.
Aberdeen is situated in the North East of Scotland with an easily accessible airport just 15 minutes from the city centre, making it easy to stay connected to the UK and beyond, e.g., fly to London in just over an hour at reasonable prices. Grampian is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a stunning coastline populated by dolphins. The area also provides opportunities for outdoor activities and sports.
Hybrid working will be supported.
The interview will be conducted remotely, and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
