Focus 5 Recruitment are working with a strategic and creative digital agency based near Burnley to help recruit a Digital Strategist. The agency delivers outstanding work across digital marketing, design, and development – and they’re now looking for a commercially-minded strategist to lead on strategic planning across a range of high-profile client accounts.

Key Responsibilities for the Digital Strategist –
* Lead the strategic planning process across key client accounts, from discovery and audits to roadmap development and execution.
* Define and evolve digital marketing strategies based on business objectives, audience insights, competitor intelligence, and analytics.
* Work with internal teams to embed strategic thinking into SEO, content, paid media, automation, and web projects.
* Develop tailored customer journey maps, messaging frameworks, and conversion funnels.
* Lead monthly strategy presentations and reporting sessions, translating complex data into clear recommendations.
* Guide campaign measurement, performance analysis, and ongoing optimisation.
* Identify opportunities to innovate, improve performance, and grow client accounts.
* Collaborate with commercial teams to support new business opportunities with pre-sales strategy input.
Experience We’re Looking For –
* 5+ years’ experience in digital strategy, marketing planning, or digital consultancy, ideally within an agency environment.
* Deep knowledge of SEO, paid media, content marketing, CRM, automation, CRO, and analytics.
* Confident presenting strategic plans and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
* Comfortable engaging directly with clients and working with cross-functional teams.
* Strong proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Semrush, HubSpot, Data Studio, and CRM platforms.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to bridge creative, technical, and commercial thinking.
* Commercially focused with a strong grasp of ROI, budget planning, and performance metrics.
Preferred (but not essential) –
* Experience working with manufacturing or industrial clients.
* Hands-on experience with HubSpot strategy or implementation.
* Familiarity with AI-powered marketing and automation tools.
* Understanding of strategic UX or CRO (conversion rate optimisation) principles.
