About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our Repairs & Maintenance service. This is a specialist role where you will lead on the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of disrepair issues across our housing stock ensuring our homes are safe, decent, compliant and fit for human habitation.

We are looking for the key requirements:
* A degree/diploma in Building Surveying, Construction or related field or equivalent experience.
* Professional membership such as RICS, MCIOB or similar (or working towards).
* Strong knowledge of building pathology, damp & mould diagnosis, construction methods and maintenance practices.
* Experience of surveying domestic properties ideally within social housing and disrepair contexts.
* Understanding of landlord legal obligations, Awaab’s Law requirements, HHSRS and building safety legislation.
* Excellent communication skills, report-writing ability and confidence using surveying and IT systems.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the borough.
You will be a proactive, solutionfocused professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes for residents.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
