As our Payroll Assistant, you will assist in in the accurate and efficient processing of the payroll for Vistry Group, circa 4,500 employees across the UK in 26 regional locations, over 200 construction sites and 3 factories manufacturing timber frame housing components. Be aware of team workloads and readily available to assist colleaguesBe flexible, adaptable and somebody who can work well under pressure and deal with high volumes and tight deadlinesHave good to excellent knowledge of Outlook, EXCEL and Word and a similar payroll system to ResourceLinkMore about the Payroll Assistant role…Enter new employees to the system and ensure 1st payday is accurate, ensure that T&Cs are appropriate for role and entered correctly to system by our colleagues in the HR Administration team.Enter P45’s from new employees ensuring tax code, previous pay and tax figures and Student Loan notifications are entered correctly.Ensure that auto-enrolment has been actioned by the system and then issue auto enrolment documentation.Check National Minimum Wage and Real Living wage rules are adhered to for the new employee.Process leavers from the business, ensuring final payday is accurate. Produce and dispatch payslips and P45 forms after each pay run.Terminate holiday entitlement and associated holiday payment is correct.Ensure that any benefits or loans are administered correctly for the leaving reason and recovered from final pay.Update ResourceLink with any salary increases, promotions or role changes ensuring all T&Cs entered to the system by our colleagues in the HR Administration team are audited.Ensure that all bonus entitlement and life assurance data is accurate and reasons for change are entered.Monitor, check, and input employee specific variable data to the payroll system includingUnpaid time away from VistryOvertime and Extra hoursTravel AllowanceReward payments, such as Long ServiceStatutory AbsencesSick pay and absencesAssist with checking colleague’s input ready for payroll cut-off and with processing any month end or tax year end tasks.Respond to employee queries and offer help and guidance on PAYE and payroll processes.Generate any PAL’s which are a result of errors or omissions from the previous months payroll. Raise early payments, issue notification to the employee and reconcile the advances to the payroll reports.Help and assist when required, when other colleagues within the team and the wider People Services team are absent from the business or working on projects.Be aware and have in depth knowledge of all policies that affect the output of the payroll.Review team pages on company intranet, DUG and advise manager of any changes or improvements that could be made.Finally, let’s tell you a bit more about us…We build more than homes, we’re making Vistry.
