We are looking to expand our Heat Treatment Function by adding a CAD Engineer to the team. This newly formed role will allow you to play an important role supporting experienced engineers in heat treatment technologies within our organisation deliver robust processes with world class OEE to underpin our multi-million pound growth plans, driven to exceed our prestigious customers' expectations by design. What you'll be doing as our CAD Engineer: Optimising sub-system designs on current furnaces to enable SMED approach to switching out furnace hardware modules (vacuum pumps, heating systems, work zones/retorts). Creating detailed component and assembly 2D and 3D technical drawings/models of our current retorts and heating systems to company standards for the purpose of design change management. Provide specifications required to enable direct market pricing and sourcing activities to be undertaken. Optimise and re-engineer existing designs to enhance performance and furnace uptime. Support and take lead on re-engineering projects associated with enhancing heat treatment performance, machine uptime, capacity, process robustness. Support Surface Transforms in-house furnace design projects to ensure designs factor in SMED principles from design stage through to serial production. Establish FEA capability (stress analysis of designs). Establish CFD modelling capability (process gas flows, cooling system water flows). Ensure all data is retained on company network in line with company policy.
