The role of the CCTV Room & Emergency Planning Manager is a new, exciting, and important role for Stockport Homes Group (SHG). The role will take strategic responsibility for the organisation's CCTV service and ‘Out of Hours’ response in emergencies, ensuring robust continuity and emergency plans that are tested and proven.
In this role, you will:
* Lead all aspects of people management, employee engagement, customer excellence, and service performance in a fast-paced directorate operating 24hr services.
* Manage Control Room & CCTV Team Leaders, providing leadership and supporting effective teamwork for operational tasks and performance.
* Maintain high staff engagement and morale, managing service areas and supporting structural changes.
* Align SHG’s emergency plans with the Civil Contingency plan, GM Resilience Unit strategy, and GM Prepared guidance.
* Coordinate an effective Out of Hours (OOH) service alongside relevant colleagues.
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Strong people management and talent development skills, including recruitment and onboarding.
* Experience working with customers, resolving complaints satisfactorily.
* Excellent communication skills for meetings, reports, and training.
* Service delivery management experience, especially in 24hr/control room/OOH contexts.
* Ability to work under pressure, with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Relationship-building skills with staff, customers, partners, and stakeholders.
* Experience managing operational teams and delivering to standards and targets.
* Business acumen for service sales, funding, and resource pooling.
* Resilience, energy, and adaptability in challenging environments.
* Flexible working approach.
The appointment is subject to DBS clearance, employment references, and obtaining an SIA CCTV Licence (funded by SHG). The candidate must also complete GMP Vetting for Police Airwaves Radios, requiring UK residency for 3+ years.
* Evidence of professional development or qualifications in this field.
* Knowledge of the social housing sector and emergency management.
* Specialist CCTV monitoring experience in complex environments.
* Understanding of IT systems' impact on resilience planning.
